BEHOLD DANNY DONKEY!
Each year the town of Dahlonega & the surrounding county comes alive with scarecrows! Funny ones, silly ones, clever ones & even traditional ones. Our women's club uses the entry fee for having a scarecrow to make needed upgrades to our woefully underfunded library. Last year I made Mike the Miner for the Friends of the Dahlonega Gold Museum & a pair of Square Dances for Gold Country Squares (square dance club). This year I'm only adding to Mike- he gets a faithful Donkey named 'Danny'. Ken made me the base (a sawhorse) and I began the donkey about a week ago. HE IS DONE NOW! BEHOLD DANNY DONKEY! Yeah- I know that was corny- but I could not resist. Danny's head is carved styrofoam, his hears are fabric, his body is an old battered metal garbage can (thank you Dana & Bob), his saddlebags are milk jugs. A mane out of yarn finishes him up.
